The playing cards were made with German styled face cards (king, uber marshal and under marshal) and French suits (diamonds, hearts, clubs and spades). We decided to do it this way because French suits could be stenciled rather than carved and printed, but we like the German style of clothing and face cards. We intend to do a fully German deck with all 52 cards carved sometime in the future. |
